Winter Fun
Ladies’ and Mixed Winter Ladders
All abilities, sign-up open
Both ladies’ and mixed tennis ladders are a fun way to play more tennis and get to know more club members. Each session will run for 6-8 weeks, comprising of 3 or 4 mini leagues depending on numbers. We play 11 games and your score for the match is the number of games you get. At the end of each session the top teams in the mini league move up and the bottom teams move down.
All levels welcome. Find your own partner or if you are new and looking to play we can try to help you with this.
Please contact Fiona Moynihan on fmwm14@btinternet.com if you wish to join the ladies’ ladder and francesrawle@btinternet.com for the mixed one.
Sunday Fun Tennis
Debbie Robertson explains how to join in
“For those of you who haven’t been involved before, now is your chance! Played on Sunday afternoons from October through to March, mixed teams of varying abilities play each other in the hope of getting their name on the cup! It’s a really fun format and a chance to meet other members as well as to play people of varying abilities.
“The sessions are all played from 1.00 - 3.00pm on Sunday afternoons. If you can’t play, there will be a list of reserves so you can either ask one of them or swap with someone else. You always play opposite someone of your level, and mix with other players every 20 minutes.
“To sign up please email debbie_robertson@talktalk.net. I need to know your playing level, ie lady 1,2 or 3 or man 1,2 or 3 and your mobile no. If you don’t feel able to commit to being in a team, please sign up as a reserve. If you are a couple and want to play in the same team, please let me know. Alternatively you may want to be on different teams due to childcare or other reasons, so let me know that too.
“Please sign up ASAP so I can get the lists out and give you maximum notice for starting in October.
“If you have any queries at all, then give me a call on 01494 864745. Do sign up, it makes for a fun afternoon and a great way of meeting more members and playing more tennis.”
