Improving Play at the Club

Padel Participation Group

Having opened a great padel playing facility we developed a subcommittee to help maximise the opportunity for members and non-members to learn, play and compete. We have launched club nights for members, coaching sessions, and competitions. We have also improved court facilities and will continue to provide padel rackets and balls. Padel at GMTLC will continue and evolve and we are pleased to hear from club members and regular users with suggestions.

Tennis Advisory Group (TAG)

TAG was established earlier this year as a forum for members to feedback to the committee on tennis playing activities. The group has established some areas of focus to help improve the playing experience for members who may find it difficult to engage:

  • New members
  • Beginners and improvers
  • Younger and working age adults

We are grateful to the members who have volunteered and contributed to TAG. To date we have seen progress with improved and targeted communication to members, more singles play, and new tournament formats. On the near horizon will be coaching programmes for improvers to help transition into playing more social tennis and adult weekend masterclass coaching for those who want to take their tennis to the next level.\

The MIXER has been introduced with Sally Moir taking the initiative on that. A new one day fun tournament is also being planned by Erin, Andy and Rowan Fyfe for the end of August. More details coming soon.

Get Involved

You can contribute by attended meetings (2-3 per year) or via an established email group. If you wish to join TAG please contact Ajit, Jan, or Di.
